Maybe next time.
The Wall was very emotional for me; two guys I grew up with are on it. And it must be much more so for you.
Best of luck on your book. I'm following your blog now, too!Friend Griefhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09657348016992982554noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2525229216299973928.post-30478761581563241062011-09-20T21:30:49.671-05:002011-09-20T21:30:49.671-05:00Oh, Victoria, your writing filled my heart. The part about "the rainbow at a certain time of day" put a lump in my throat.

Next Thursday, I will be visiting the "Traveling Wall," a tribute to those lost in the Vietnam War, in Santa Barbara. My husband was a Vietnam vet who suffered with PTSD for 15 years before he took his own life. I wrote a book from my diary showing the love and life we lived. My blog is my journey into publishing this book. I wonder how seeing the "Wall" will affect me. I hope to blog about the experience. Thank you for caring so much for others . . .
Nancy MacMillan @ http://blogofavetswife.blogspot.com/Nancy MacMillanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16322689935908642513noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2525229216299973928.post-25441614300006856802011-09-18T18:22:27.512-05:002011-09-18T18:22:27.512-05:00Thanks for the comment and reminder, Shelley. I was also initially skeptical of the design and then impressed by the unveiling as I saw it on television; I hear on the radio that visiting slots are now full through the end of October, and instead of that frustrating me over the delay of my own visit, it actually makes me happy in a way that so many people care and want to pay tribute. :)Shelley Workingerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12720790942978108809noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2525229216299973928.post-51114115704318087882011-09-18T00:33:00.206-05:002011-09-18T00:33:00.206-05:00Stopped by on the blog hop. I'm a long way from New York and may never see the memorial, but you got the sounds and feeling TV programs don't.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2525229216299973928.post-69206849649241710752011-09-17T21:10:41.460-05:002011-09-17T21:10:41.460-05:00Thanks Helen and Carol for stopping by.

This was like stepping into another world, almost. I look forward to seeing it again.Friend Griefhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09657348016992982554noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2525229216299973928.post-12126372240335645432011-09-17T18:52:12.361-05:002011-09-17T18:52:12.361-05:00I appreciate your impressions of the Memorial. There were small groups of people crying and praying and emotion around the site was palpable. I'd love to go ten years later. I like your words about all us losing our innocence that day. There's a lot of truth it that.Carol Applehttp://www.carolsnotes.netnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2525229216299973928.post-54527847410058620452011-09-17T16:46:06.893-05:002011-09-17T16:46:06.893-05:00Hello Victoria.
